November, 2009 — Nor-Tech will be showcasing an exciting new addition to their award-winning Portable Cluster line, a Ruggedized Portable Cluster specially designed for the processing of seismic data for gas and oil exploration.

Working with partners in the Brazilian Oil & Gas Industry, Nor-Tech has developed the cluster to run seismic and imaging software with extensive geophysical applications designed to solve a wide variety of imaging objectives for complex environments.

The Ruggedized Portable Cluster features the Intel® Server System SR1680MV, a modularized rack server system providing two independent dual socket/18DIMM nodes in a 1U chassis. This cable-free, half-width system is purpose built to meet your increasing compute density needs. The high memory capacity and flexible I/O capability make it ideal for virtualization and a broad range of HPC applications.

SC09 is the premier international conference on high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis.  Since 1988, the Supercomputing Conference has showcased the latest state-of-the-field developments in technology, applications, vendor products, research results, national policy and national/ international initiatives.
